The J.Crew store in the King of Prussia Mall is reopening today at 11:00 am.
The store has been closed since Monday for renovations. The sales associate I spoke with assured me that the store is better than ever. They’ve had added more fitting rooms and a brand new cash wrap.
I can’t wait to see the new fall arrivals first hand!
Do you live near this J.Crew? If so, will you visit the store this week? What changes are you expecting?

Awesome! See if you can sneak any photos for this blog. I would love to hear your thoughts and put them in a blog post!

I will definitely try to take some pictures. Also, this is OT, but the metallic giraffe day coat you posted about a little while ago is now $129.99. I never understood final sale for catalog-only items, but I’m sure if it doesn’t work out they would take it back.

Thanks for the heads up! I have been keeping my eye on it. I ordered the yellow version to try on for fit. This way, I know whether or not to order the giraffe version which is on final sale.

I couldn’t take any pictures of the King of Prussia store because it was very busy and one of the contractors was taking pics himself. It doesn’t look much different to me though; it’s just more open and there are more fitting rooms, which is great! They have many of the new fall items, including the yellow day coat, which I thought was lovely. They did not have the Penny jacket, which is one of the main reasons why I had gone up there, but my PS said that if it comes in she will call me. What I thought was strange is that the sale section spilled out over half the store; it used to be contained to one corner, but now it’s sort of hard to tell what’s on sale and what’s not. I hope they are going to fix that soon; my PS was saying they are a bit discombobulated from the remodel. The good thing is that the store has many of the items that have sold out sizes on the website, so if there is something you are looking for it’s worth it to give KOP a call. Off the top of my head I can recall:
Abstract rose print dress
Abstract rose print skirt
Paintbrush floral Belle skirt
Sparkle Plaid tweed skirt
The sale section is and extra 40% off, so there are some good deals to be had there because some relatively new items are on sale. I noted that they have the chiffon rose belts for $6 each! There are also a lot of things there that are NOT on the website at all, like many different colors of the felted mini skirt, and some great houndstooth mini skirts in purple and white, gray, and black. There are also colors of the merino rose cardi that do not appear on the website - I noticed a heather wheat color. All in all it was worth the trip there, as always.

I also saw the miniskirts that I think mchesq is referring to - they are new season and super cute it you like J.Crew winter minis. As well as the felted ones, the new plaids as mentioned in a purple and white and grey and black are really nice. I didn’t mention them in my post on the New Arrivals I tried in San Fran 2 weeks ago since I skipped by them - I bought about 4 minis last year!!
Enjoy the King of Prussia Store - I’ve always heard it was a really well stocked one so hopefully even better with renovations. BTW I ordered the Houndstooth Clea in Black - you should be able to see those as they have been in San Fran for a while. I also got my cashmere sequin stripe cardigan in the carbon grey - a few XSs showed up and my PS got it for me. I recommend this cardigan style - it fits fairly snug and is really cute on. Re the Giraffe Coat - of course now all the zeros are gone…
but in case more pop up, Leigh can you post re fit of the yellow version - I am afraid it will be a bit shapeless in the back unless cut smaller like the higher priced Collection coats are? Also love to hear about fit of the orange houndstooth. Thanks!! (ps sorry if off the subject….)

Hey Aasha, I had the pleasure of seeing the mini skirts a few weeks ago at the J.Crew in King of Prussia and the one in Philadelphia. While I do think they are super cute and will look great with tights, I am going to hold off on purchasing them. I bought the winter minis full price last year and then they went on sale soon after. Now, I know better to wait. I really think the purple color is really pretty.
The King of Prussia store is very well stocked, too, well stocked sometimes. They hardly carry a sale section because they ship it out to other stores so that they can make room for more new and full price merchandise. So while I do wait for things to go on sale, I am scared that they will no longer be available at the store when they are on sale.
I tried on the Houndstooth Clea coat in the black last weekend and unfortunately, even the size 0 was so roomy. I wore a long sleeved shirt underneath it and it still not fit as snug as I wanted it to. It is a gorgeous coat though. It really makes me think of the holidays and the parties that you could wear such a great jacket to.
I saw that about the Giraffe jacket, too. I am kind of disappointed because I have been really lusting after that jacket. We’ll see how I really feel after trying on the yellow version.
And about the orange Greta, someone commented on that post that she did not like the coat. I will report on my thoughts when I receive it.

Mchesq, I am headed to the King of Prussia store tomorrow. I will report back on my thoughts. I am hoping they have a lot of the new October arrivals.
Thanks for such a detailed account of your KoP visit.

Oh no - that means the Houndstooth Clea is probably going to be too big - I barely tried it on….but if so, I’ll return/exchange it for something else…..I am pretty tired of paying for tailoring - I did so like the fabric though. I wish they would make 00 jackets…
I do agree about holding off on paying full price for the mini skirts.
Re the Orange Jacket - I am pretty sure it will fit like a tent…I’d recommend trying the Tulip coat - itis pretty. But of course it is a traditional overcoat….
As far as the Giraffe jacket - yes still no Size 0 today. I bet they have more when the extra 20% is over. The Collection coats are smaller. I do like the French Serge Coat - let me know how it fits - I am just afraid with the lack of detail at the back that it may be a little shapeless - there are no darts…? Also it is not a Collection piece. Last year I bought the Ivory Bella Overcoat and the 0 was enormous. I then bought the Houndstooth Gramercy and it was as though it was cut on a different fit model - the entire chest/shoulders/sleeves were way smaller. Regular zeros in coats and jackets are way big for me…The only jacket that has fit properly other than that one this past year is the domino jacquard -and the Madison store in NYC said everyone else had to size up 2 sizes in that….
Thanks in advance for fit comments. Oh and I got an email from J.Crew back a few months ago saying they were “working on smaller sizes” but they 00 and 25 cords are still not in any stores and I don’t see any evidence of 00 in any jackets/coats….?? Every single skirt I bought this past summer has been too big….
