Earlier this week, I wrote in the post, “Michelle Obama Enjoys Her J.Crew!” about how Michelle Obama wore an all J.Crew ensemble when she appeared on the Jay Leno show.
This morning, I found that J.Crew updated its homepage. When you click on the pink box, it takes the shoppers to a page, as seen above, with the entire outfit laid out.
Traffic on JCrew.com, the day after Michelle’s appearance, increased by 64%, thanks to clicks from women looking for the potential First Lady’s outfit.
The Pembridge dot camilla skirt became the most-viewed item on the store’s site, with hits up 464% from the day before.
For the other pieces she was wearing, including the Italian deco tank and crystal button color block cardigan, online shoppers encountered crashes and long delays on the checkout page.
On Michelle Obama, J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons Mazeau said, “We are thrilled that one of the most important women in America not only noticed, but looks fantastic in our clothes.”
