Earlier this week, I wrote in the post, “Michelle Obama Enjoys Her J.Crew!” about how Michelle Obama wore an all J.Crew ensemble when she appeared on the Jay Leno show.
This morning, I found that J.Crew updated its homepage. When you click on the pink box, it takes the shoppers to a page, as seen above, with the entire outfit laid out.
Traffic on JCrew.com, the day after Michelle’s appearance, increased by 64%, thanks to clicks from women looking for the potential First Lady’s outfit.
The Pembridge dot camilla skirt became the most-viewed item on the store’s site, with hits up 464% from the day before.
For the other pieces she was wearing, including the Italian deco tank and crystal button color block cardigan, online shoppers encountered crashes and long delays on the checkout page.
On Michelle Obama, J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons Mazeau said, “We are thrilled that one of the most important women in America not only noticed, but looks fantastic in our clothes.”

I personally do not care for this combination…however it did look fabulous on Michelle! and also really awesome on TV.

Wow, we may get a Jackie O for our generation just yet.

I emailed JCrew and they said the top does NOT have a zipper on the side.

Thanks Ann. I meant to get back to you about that. I hope that helps you decide on your purchase. Did you in the outerwear post that I linked to the picture of the Greta coat for you?

Leigh,
Got all the info. OK.
Also, placed an order last night but decided to wait on the Deco Dot cami (hoping it will go down in price more…there are still at least 99 if not more left in my size!)
I preordered the cascading flowersl Astrid as well as got a cashmere sweater in light spearmint and the Andrea Jacket….it seemed like a better deal for the jacket at $129 vs. the Deco cami for $99! Plus, only 3 left of the jacket in my size!

Ann, can you let us know how the light spearmint cashmere is in person? I like the look of this new color but often the colors are a lot different than they look in the photos…thanks! Which style did you buy? I am thinking of getting the sweater with the tie at the shoulder and will wait until the ruffle cardigans go on sale eventually - I am glad they now made this popular merino style in cashmere…

Aasha,
I got the classic cashmere cardi in spearmint. I heard it is true to color…as a true pastel mint color which I hope is true b/c that is what I want.
When I preordered the C. F. Astrid the CS rep told me the new spring line is full of pastels and muted colors and that makes me happy too; enough brights please!!!!
The C. F. Astrid is in the JCrew Collection and is pictured only online. It comes in black and ivory and I ordered up a size after I got the measurements on the item as well b/c it seemed to run a tad smaller in bust and shoulder measurements than my other two Astrids.
