US Magazine reports that the ladies of the First Family all wore J.Crew to the Inauguration ceremonies this morning.
Update: April, a reader of this blog wrote J.Crew about Malia and Sasha’s coat. This is the response they wrote back.
Thank you for taking the time to write. Unfortunately, we can’t comment on any details of Michelle, Sasha or Malia Obama’s attire until later this week, however we can say we are excited about the attention this has been getting. Some of the styles are definitely a sneak peek at what our fall 2009 collection will include. Thanks again for reaching out.
Obama Girls Wear J. Crew to Inauguration
Malia and Sasha Obama wore J. Crew [coats from the Fall 2009 line] to Tuesday’s inauguration ceremony, the clothing company announced.
Mom also wore the brand.
Michelle Obama paired her sparkling yellow-gold sheath Isabel Toledo dress with green J. Crew gloves [and green J.Crew shoes].
“This being one of the most significant days in history already makes this a momentous occasion – and seeing those beautiful girls come out in our clothes overwhelmed us with gratitude,” Jenna Lyons, senior VP of women’s design, tells Usmagazine.com. “There are no words to express the pride we feel….it was an honor and a privilege to even be considered.”
The three also wore J. Crew to Monday’s Kids’ Inaugural Concert.
Michelle has long been a fan of J. Crew.
Last October, she admitted to Jay Leno that the yellow sweater, skirt and blouse ensemble she was wearing was J. Crew.
Said Michelle, “You can get some good stuff online.”
