Katie, I completely agree with you. I think it is so dishonest, but sadly, so many online retailing companies do it. It's very deceiving to the consumer. I would think that it would dramatically affect the company's bottom line. This would just lead to a significant number of returns on a certain item.

This practice seems so dishonest! If they want the pants to fit a certain way, they should be changing things at the DESIGN level. Reason #213 to hate shopping online AND final sale.

Exactly. J.Crew needs to get rid of their final sale if they are doing things like this. If I ordered these pants, I would expect them to fit nicely around the leg and not be so baggy. And these are on final sale right now on the website!

This evidence at least partially explains my issues with the city-fit cadet pant in white that I ordered from final sale (which they are letting me return, thank goodness). Not only was it big for a size 4, the pant was very wide and flowy; not at all how it looked on the model in the catalog and on the website!

Hi Rae. Those photos are on the actual website right now! Can you believe that? I combed through some other pictures to see if there were more, but this was the only one I was able to find. Now, I know why the pants never look good on me. I always joke to my boyfriend that I wish I could walk around with clothes pinned in the back like how retailers pin the clothes on mannequins. Sadly, I can not.
