Betty’s wardrobe is very eclectic and colorful. I would not have worn the jacket as she did, but I still thought she looked great in it.

Leigh, I agree, I certainly would not wear the jacket the way she did. lol! I purchased my Berry-Trim Astrid today in the blue (as shown above) for $112.99. Wasn’t it a steal? The stores currently have them on Sale. I was holding out for the plum but since the plum is an online only item and is still regular priced, (only the blue is on sale), I purchased it. I can’t wait for it to arrive!!!
Leigh, how do you wear your charcoal Berry-Astrid? Do you normally wear it with jeans? How do you wear yours in a professional setting?

How does this jacket run? I have the velvet blazers from this year and I bought them in a 6. I am all over the board w/J Crew sizing. I wear XS in some sweaters & S in some othe things, but their blazers I seem to wear a 6. Thanks for your help.

Hi Kim! This jacket is very boxy and the sleeves are three-quarter length so I would suggest wearing normal sizing in J.Crew. For this jacket, the sizing is numbered, 0-14. I actually ordered a petite in it (to try on for size) and could not notice a difference between that and the regular sizing.

I have the purple and LOVE IT! It is the prettiest shade and I love how the berries “pop” but not overly done. The purple is prettier than online picture by far:)

Purple online only. Kim, it is to die for….absolutely the most beautiful and wearable shade of purple…in fact I think it is a timeless shade. I have a blazer in a spring weight fabric from 1995 in the same shade!

I was wondering where Karen purchased the blue astrid at $112.99. Is it on sale at all the stores? Why doesn’t the website offer the same pricing? I bought 2 velvet blazers in the store on sale & they are full price online. Just curious. Also, does anyone know if the Desert Floral Bauble or Glass Bead Ribbon necklaces have gone on sale yet in the stores. Thank you!!

The stores and website have different prices and different sales. Lots of website stores/companies do this. I do know a CS store rep once told me things sell online better. I don’t think they have to offer sales as much online. I no longer have a store nearby so I buy what I want online. I have had my purple Astrid since the second week it came out and got 20% off it and have worn it so many times pluls it is sold out in my size in purple so would not have paid to wait in this case…

Kim, I purchased my Blue Berry Astrid from the White Plains, NY store. They are $179.99 on Final Sale and the store is offering an additional 40% off. I don’t know when the extra discount ends but I purchased it yesterday. With the discount it rung up as $112.99 before taxes. I don’t know what other sizes they have but give them a call. I had to call about 15 stores before I found one that had a jacket in my size. Only the Blue is on sale. The Charcoal is still full price. The Purple is an online only item and is also full price. I hope you find a blue one. I tried on the blue when it first came out in August. I loved it but could not justify paying full price for it. I’m glad to have purchased it for half off. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi Karen. Thanks. I used the J Crew locator and they found me one. I just hope I ordered the right size. I went w/a 6. I have the velvet blazer and I bought a 6 in that. I don’t know which store they found it at, but I am going to see if I got the sale price, too. Thanks.

Just an update. I did get the sale price for the Astrid jacket. I called the Westport, CT store and they told me it was 40% off. They also had the Desert Floral Bauble bracelet & earrings 30% off the sale price, so I added them to my total. Now, if only the necklace had been on sale. Keep your eyes open & let me know!! Thanks

Hi Everyone. I wanted to let you know that I received my blazer today & absolutely love it. Unfortunately, I think the 6 is a little big in the chest area (which is suprising, because I feel I have broad shoulders & usually go up a size w/their blazers). J Crew is on the lookout for a size 4. If I don’t find one I am going to have this one taken in. Thanks to all that told me this coat was spectacular. It is even prettier IRL.

Hi Kim, ARGH! Now I’m a little worried. I normally wear a size 6 as well. I’m about a 35″ around the chest and was told by J Crew CS that the 6 has a chest of 38″ - which sounds about right but now I’m thinking that I need a 4 too. Don’t mean to be too personal, but are you about the same size as me?

Karen. They let me order a size 4 (website). They called the store (Westport CT) to verify that I got it on sale. It is now 50% off, so I paid around $93. It is backordered, so it should ship out around 11/24th. I am going to keep both & decide which one fits better. The blazer is boxy, so I don’t know if the 4 will be too tight. I usually wear a size 2 pant w/J Crew, size 4 coats, and S or XS sweaters. I am a true size 4, but there clothes are all over the board for me. I bought the velvet blazers in a size 6. The 6 in the Astrid has a lot of room in the chest. I am about a 36-37 around the chest. As I mentioned in an earlier post, after having children I think my back is broader. I hope that answers your question. If you get the 6 and it is too big, I would immediately call the 800# they were very accomodating to me.

Karen. I forgot to mention that J Crew told me I could return the final sale item to the store, too. I think they say that, but they will take items back under certain circumstances. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
