Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures! Thanks so very much:)

Thanks for posting these pictures! I love reading this blog and the others devoted to JCrew — totally brightens my dreary days. I have a question — I am a coat freak. Could you describe that coat in the third photo? And how much is it? Looks like a version of the Renee coat, as best as I can tell.

  3. Kara

The coat is lovely! I’m sure it’s over $400. Can’t wait to see the rest of the catalog.

  4. jcrewjunkie

I love the color of the first coat. What is it called? Is it something that I have already seen and possibly missed (although I don’t know how that would be possible!! LOL!)

  5. Ann

Is the pink jacket with the flower the same as the pink jacket that is in stores??? I believe the flower is smaller and flops over and people have said the flower just isn’t nice and distracts from the jacket. The reason I am thinking it is–is b/c what you see is not what you always get in final production from JCrew as noted in several blogs and posts….Remember the ruffle Astrid with the missing cuff trim? Just to name one of many…Last year it was a dress for me that showed a slit online but then wasn’t made with one!

  6. Ann

Pink jacket is $228 and is show with the floppy flower (how this ruins the jacket) on the blog gigisgoneshoping.com

  7. Ann

Correction…gigisgoneshopping.blogspot.com or just google gigis gone shopping

I love the color just wish the flower wasn’t floppy! I have seen other pictures of it and all descriptions of people seeing it in store have commented on it. Saw some newslady wearing it and it had the same, distracting effect! What a shame!

THANK YOU!!!! Can’t wait to see the entire catalog 2-nite!!!!

  9. Jeff

Jcrewjunkie: If you meant the coat in the 2nd pic, it’s the Audrey.

I can’t wait for the pics either. This makes me think though. How do you get the catalog so early. Are you a J Crew employee? Hm.

  10. Leigh

Hi Jeff. I can guarantee you that I am not a J.Crew employee.

It makes me wonder how other blogs get special previews of anything. Surely, everyone can not be an employee of the company they are writing about or the products they review.

  11. jcrewjunkie

I too have seen the latest catalog but am not a J Crew employee. I swear that I must have looked right over the coat in the FIRST pic (not the second one Jeff, but thanks for the info!) possibly because of that floppy flower! I also noticed in the latest catalog that they show the Heather Bright Berry Maggie jacket and it looks beautiful although it is much the same color as the Rhubarb Andrea making me really glad that I got the Andrea in Honey Glaze. :)

  12. Stewart Warren

I just realized — there are four photos. I am curious about the description and cost of the coat in the last photo. I hope this isn’t confusing — I just looked again, and I see that the first photo is the cover. Addtitionally, do you all think that blondes can wear honey glaze? I have lighter-colored hair and am fair-skineed. Would I look like a banana?

My favorite JCrew Associate (Scott) gave me a copy today, too. There are so many great items. I wish I didn’t have to order most of my J Crew through the catalog. The stores don’t seem to get the majority of items I purchase. I love traveling & having the opportunity to check out all the J Crew stores in other big cities!!

  14. Ann

    Jcrewjunkie,

Do you think so too…that the pink jacket is the one that was produced with the smaller, floppy flower!

  15. Jeff

Hrm, I think I might stop by tomorrow to ask for a catalog myself.

  16. Jenn

When will you be posting the catalog? I’m on pins and needles!!
    Thank you!

  17. Leigh

Ann, you’re welcome. I am glad that you enjoyed the preview. Also, the pink jacket is the one that you have seen in stores. I have seen it, too, and the flower is about the a fourth of the size of the one in the photo. It is also very droopy and wilted.

Stewart, I can definitely get you more information on the coat. I think it’s stunning and will probably sell out quickly.

JCrewJunkie and Jeff, where do you live that you are able to see the catalog? I called my local store tonight and they said that they did not have it yet.

  18. jcrewjunkie

Mr. Lucky (Jeff) lives in New York. I, however, am in PA and had a friend who scanned it and sent it to me. :)

Stewart: I also have blonde hair and am fair skinned and the Honey Glaze is gorgeous with my coloring. If you want some excellent ideas on how to pair Honey Glaze (Andrea, Cambridge Cable Cardi, Jackie Cardi…etc.) just go to FabulousFloridaMommy.blogspot.com and check out her creations as they are to die for!! Fabulous! :)

  19. Leigh

Stewart, here is information on the coat!

This is the Watercolor Leopard Kate Coat, Collection:

Everything about his jacket speaks to its couture- inspired craftsmanship. The fabric is matte satine double cloth, woven in silk, and wool. Fully lined, 0-14, catalog/jcrew.com only.

    $548.

  20. Rae

This is great news, Leigh! I love that you’re able to share this so soon. ;)

  21. Aasha

OK so the Lacquered Crackle Jacket $550 Collection Item 11224- is ALREADY SOLD OUT?! I am a bit dumbfounded - does anyone else think that is a little crazy. They only just brought it out….?! I’ve bought Collection pieces before and they usually last a bit longer than this - this just sort of annoys me…..

  22. Leigh

Aasha, do you think a lot of people preodered it? Did you call the Collection store in New York to see if they had it?

  23. Ann

Preordering an item did not work for me and I have “talked” with three others on blogs that their preorders have not gone through. One even had hers cancelled after seeing the item online in plenty of sizes on Thursday and then “BAM” when she called today asking about it they couldn’t find her preorder and it was sold out for her. I will never preorder an item again. I sent three emails and had to call two times to get mine straigtened out over the course of Friday and Sat. Not worth the hassle. I am so very mad at JCrew right now. I am done shopping for a long time with them.

  24. Leigh

Ann, what was the item that you pre-ordered and what happened? I have pre-ordered items before and they all went fine. Please let me know. Thanks!

  25. Ann

Three others I have talked with have had problems with their preorders on various collection items that became availabe NOV 6…mine was the cascading flowers astrid. I preordered mine 10 days ago and it was never sent….

The gal that had her preorder cancelled/sold out placed her preorder the first day the items showed up online for preorder. So that should have not happened…guess hers was “lost” too.

I am so mad at JCrew right now….I am a very calm person and I have never gotten upset with a rep on the phone so I directly asked for a supervisor when I called. I was so mad I was shaking….here it is Sat. and no order sent….had to redo the whole thing….just a big pain…..which is what I was trying to avoid to begin with….I’m sorry but that is just bad business practices esp. when it happens to more than one person!

  26. Leigh

Good morning Ann, I am really sorry to hear about your pre-order. I actually ordered this jacket on the day it debuted on the website and it was still available. I should receive it this week. What size do you wear in the jacket?

Have you tried calling the J.Crew Collection store in New York to see if they have the item? I have done this before for items that were sold out online and the store had it. They will waive the shipping fee because it is a full price item.

  27. Ann

    Thanks. I will try that:)

  28. Leigh

    No problem!
