Last week, a few readers received a special, “Thank-You Note from J.Crew.”  I was very excited to hear this news, but was rather disappointed that this offer was not disseminated to all J.Crew shoppers.

Well, I came home from work today and there was a plain, white envelope in my mailbox.  It was simple and white and addressed to me.  The back of it read, “(Don’t miss what’s inside.) J.Crew.”  i had an idea of what was inside from what I wrote last week.  It would be a gift card from J.Crew.

I opened it and was very pleasantly surprised to find a $50 gift card instead of the $25 gift card that many readers had been reporting.

I must say that I am very excited to spend this little treat. With the extra 20% off discount that is being offered right now, this gift card came at the most opportune time. I did not expect one after last week and had given up on the notion. J.Crew did surprise me.

Jacquelyn, over at Fashionable Yet Frugal, sent me an email today in which she revealed a special treat that she received from J.Crew.  She writes:

One other random note: in my mailbox today was a thank you card from J.Crew. Enclosed was a $25 certificate good on any order through October 15. The card stated that i was one of their best customers (?!?) and that they wanted to reward me. I do not consider myself a big J.Crew shopper (at least not compared to the shopping I do at Anthropologie) but I have placed several orders in the past month and all of them have had issues. So maybe this card is meant to make up for that rebuild some loyalty I am losing? The card also said that rewards like this are available for J.Crew card holders, so maybe they are trying to get me to apply for one of those. I’m not biting–not until they offer free shipping to those who use a J.Crew card.

As for me, I am a J.Crew cardholder and have dealt with many issues involving my orders this summer, too. I have basically given up on ordering items from the website.  At least, for now.

I was very frustrated yesterday when I received my Fall catalog and learned that it was useless as I could not order anything from it. I immediately emailed my personal shopper at my local J.Crew store. He is a great asset to the me and the company, always reassuring me that he will find my items and searching the entire country for them. The response I got from him this morning is below.

Hey Leigh!

Great to hear from. Our  Fall Collection comes in on Thursday so I will make sure I keep an eye for these items.  I will e-mail Thursday with what we will have.  Have a great weekend.

It’s great to know that new arrivals from the Fall Collection will be in stores.  I really do thank Matt for that heads up.  I can’t wait to try the new clothes on and provide a preview.  I am not sure if my store will have all the items I want, as most of them are J.Crew Collection item pieces.

I think my relationship with Matt is one of the best aspects of shopping at J.Crew.  He knows me on a first name basis and is very friendly whenever I shop at J.Crew.  I am not just a customer to him.  We always chat about current events and new happenings in each of our lives.  I feel like this has enhanced my shopping experience and I know I can rely on him to help me find items and put together great J.Crew outfits.

During the holidays last year, he even sent me a thank-you note with a J.Crew gift card tucked inside.  It wasn’t much, but that small gesture let me know that he appreciated our friendship.  I enjoy shopping at J.Crew more because I know Matt will always be there for me.
