Are you looking forward to Fall 2009? I certainly am! Many of these pieces are gorgeous. I love the ruffle coat in photo #7 and the ikat strapless dress in photo #10.

J.Crew Hosts Private Party For Fall 2009 Preview
A reader recently contacted me with the following comment, “Hi! I have been reading your blog for some time now. Did you know Jenna Lyons hosted a private event last night (Monday night) to show the Fall Collection? I had a great time and was wondering if you knew about it.”
To answer her question, I didn’t know about the event so I wrote back asking for more details. I especially wanted to know if she was interested in reviewing it for this blog. She wrote back and her recount of the event is below. Enjoy!

Jenna Lyons hosted a Fall Preview Event at the J.Crew corporate offices on Monday night. The event started at 6:30pm at their office located on the 11th floor of 770 Broadway. I arrived promptly because I wanted to make sure that I did not miss anything.
I took the elevator up and the door opened right to the offices. Someone took my coat and offered me a drink, which I politely accepted. There were already some other people there, mostly ladies with a few men here and there. Everyone looked like they stepped out of the J.Crew catalog. I didn’t know what to expect.
From where I stood, I could see a room full of mannequins all dressed up in great looking clothes, too. Jenna Lyons introduced herself, walking everyone through the Collections. She started with the Women’s Collection which was set up in one room and then moved onto the Men’s Collection which was set up in another. She told us about the inspiration for the Fall Collection and highlighted some pieces that she loved. She is much taller than I had expected, but spoke well and was fun to listen to.
After the walk-through, I headed back to the room with the Women’s Collection to get a more thorough look of all the items. Because it was such a cold night on Monday night, it didn’t feel like I was looking at a preview of the Fall Collection. I really wanted to wear some of the beautiful pieces now! I even spied the Michelle Obama skirt on a mannequin! It took everything in me not to snap photos of all the beautiful clothes. I was just trying to take as many mental photos as I could.
At the end of the night, I got my coat and was offered a white J.Crew bag. The bag was the little shopper that you receive when you buy something from the Collection store on Madison Avenue. I was told that it offered the Women’s and Men’s Look Book so we could pre-order our favorite things! I also found pictures of the clothes on Glamour.com so you can share with your readers.
On the cab ride home, I leafed through the books. It was so nice to refresh my memory. I also found a silver J.Crew box at the bottom of the bag. To my delight, I opened it to find the Pearl Cluster Necklace! It was a great night and I was so happy to be invited.

Preview of April J.Crew Catalog Featuring Liya Kebede
Over at the Hipster Prep, the blogger posted some photos of the upcoming April J.Crew catalog featuring Liya Kebede. She was kind enough to let me share them on this blog.
I first wrote about this in the post, “J.Crew Catalog’s April Cover Features Liya Kebede“. Also, click on the post, “New April Arrivals Now in J.Crew Stores” to see new April arrivals in stores.
Liya Kebede will be the only model featured in the entire catalog! I am very excited to see it, but the word is that this catalog is not available in stores until Thursday.

New Spring Arrivals at J.Crew Stores

In the post, “My Favorite J.Crew Spring Looks,” I wrote about how I am excited for the new arrivals at J.Crew. They are viewable in the Spring Look Book.
I especially love the zebra tee that can be seen peeking out from under the model’s jacket in this picture.
The zebra tee is available to order online. However, it is only available in the bright orange color online. I wonder why that is the case.
While visiting my local J.Crew store this weekend, I saw the tee in the gray color as featured on the model, but did not see the orange version.
The zebra tee in gray was so cute. I love the sequins on it! I picked it up in the small, (sizing up from my usual size) as I found that it did run small.
