I just came back from my local J.Crew store where the Velvet École Jacket and the Herringbone Fiona Jacket were on a special promotion with 25% off.
The sales associate even let me use my student discount so I received an additional 15%. With everything all said and done, I purchased both jackets for the price of one!

Rae says: That’s great news, Leigh! Thanks for sharing that. I haven’t been to my nearest J.Crew stores due to a nasty cold. (boo.) The first time I tried on the Ecole, it didn’t quite fall right on me. =( Maybe a different size?
I so wanna love this jacket though, the velvet was so soft, japanncrew. As for the Herringbone Fiona, this is supercute too; although, you may want to size down a bit.
Leigh says: Japannjcrew: I love the plush velvet on the Ecole Jacket. I bought the navy and the blue is really radiant and looks great. I think it will be a great fall piece. I am rather petite and purchased the 0. It’s still roomy enough to wear a thick shirt underneath. The Herringbone Fiona does run bigger as it a boxier cut. I would stick to the size that you usually wear in J.Crew. Or like Rae said, size down. I got that jacket in the pink color.
Rae: The first time I tried on the Ecole, the store only had a 2 and it was huge. When I clasped the jacket, I still had so much room. So I didn’t get it. But the 0 definitely fit me better. I hope you are feeling better!
Rae says: Leigh: It’s the pink color I’m drawn to for the Herringbone Fiona as well! And I’ve gotta say, the navy Ecole IS plush! Thanks for the well wishes….I hope I get well enough to visit a J.Crew store soon as I’m still unsure of ordering from/referring to stocks online. =(

Japannjcrew: I posted a picture of each of my jackets for you to see the color. The Velvet Ecole jacket color doesn’t translate well via digital photos.
And the honey glaze is a great choice! It’s such a pretty color.
Rae: The Herringbone Fiona isn’t even available online yet! It comes in gray and a light orange color, too. If it’s not at your local store, I will give you the phone number to my store. They can always ship it to you. And the store is not affiliated with the catalog. They do their own shipping.
