A Thank-You Note from J.Crew

Jacquelyn, over at Fashionable Yet Frugal, sent me an email today in which she revealed a special treat that she received from J.Crew.  She writes:

One other random note: in my mailbox today was a thank you card from J.Crew. Enclosed was a $25 certificate good on any order through October 15. The card stated that i was one of their best customers (?!?) and that they wanted to reward me. I do not consider myself a big J.Crew shopper (at least not compared to the shopping I do at Anthropologie) but I have placed several orders in the past month and all of them have had issues. So maybe this card is meant to make up for that rebuild some loyalty I am losing? The card also said that rewards like this are available for J.Crew card holders, so maybe they are trying to get me to apply for one of those. I’m not biting–not until they offer free shipping to those who use a J.Crew card.

As for me, I am a J.Crew cardholder and have dealt with many issues involving my orders this summer, too. I have basically given up on ordering items from the website.  At least, for now.

Have you received this special treat from J.Crew?  If not, do you expect one?  Do you think cardholder status affects your chance of receiving this offer from J.Crew?

I was so thrilled to see this same card that Jacquelyn received in my mailbox yesterday! I agree with her that it’s totally a ploy for those who are not cardholders to apply.

I definitely haven’t gotten one of these cards and I think I order a fair amount from them and have put up with a lot of BS this summer. Oh well.

I haven’t gotten one either. I asked my mom to be on the look-out for the mail at home.

Rae, I am so glad you got one! What will you use it on?!?

I did not get one either. And I am a lon time cardholder. Too sad.:(

    Sorry, a long time…

    It is quite random…

I’ve actually used it already. =P (Yeah, I couldn’t contain myself.)

I bought the double-strand jeweled shell-jade encrusted necklace (I can’t wait to wear it to work!) and a linen ruffle cardi. I practically got the cardi for free! I called my order in (still not trusting the website), and my CS rep, Fernando, was way beyond helpful.

I got one in the mail yesterday… I do shop at J. Crew alot… not a ton but definitely more than your average. i.e. manager knows me, greets me by name when I walk in, shows me anything that has come in since I last visited, etc. 2 weeks ago I had an online order that J.Crew completely bungled… had to call customer service 4 times in the next week and a half to get it straightened out. I’m thinking that’s the reason for the cards… promote their credit card and renew customer’s trust in the brand

Laura, what are you using your gift card on? I am so excited you got one! I am a cardholder so I have come to accept that I will not be getting one. :(

This seems a bit indiscriminate. I order a LOT from J.Crew and have ordered from the website still even though I have my PS LAuren do it for me sometimes. Why did some people get it and others not…. I have placed about 15 orders since February all with multiple pieces. Oh well.. And Jacquelyn, I LOVE Anthropologie too :) I get dresses and some to die for coats from there each year as well. I have to ration myself. Highly recommend it to all J Crewaholics as the pieces complement each other….:)
