Has anyone purchased the Cashmere Heirloom Henley? My SA said that they have been VERY popular.
How do they fit?

I got one but returned it. The buttons did nothing for me. I got the classic crewneck cardi instead and love it but then again I already had two of these from last year that I Love…Just me and my preference.

Now if there was free shipping and 20% off I might buy a sweater but I kept thinking better deals are yet to come and I bought two sweater this month already:)
November 11th, 2008 - 3:32 pm
I second the free shipping. That might push me to buy another cambridge crewneck. I love those.
November 11th, 2008 - 4:01 pm
Well there is free ship now, but you can’t use both the sweater discount AND free ship. Boooooo!!!
November 11th, 2008 - 4:05 pm
What is the free code? Thanks!

Just got back from J Crew – it was crazy busy. Must be the Veterans Day traffic. Anyway – I totally scored I found the motorcycle sequin tee under a stack of tees. My SA could not believe I found it, must have been lost under there for a while. Fun surprise!
Also, the 50% was no longer going on but the sale prices had been dropped to be the sames as 50% off anyway. IE Dark Fog Belle Skirt had been 59.99 while the sale was on, it was now 29.99.

Darn it! Wish I would have known about the free ship. I just place 2 big orders online yesterday and earlier today.
November 12th, 2008 - 5:12 am
It is always a crap shoot shopping with JCrew –but I very rarely order unless I have a free shipping code b/c I know one will be popping up somewhere online…I just wait b/c it is just clothes and there is always something I like or something new coming out:)

November 12th, 2008 - 2:06 pm
Leigh I love your blog! Does anyone have any thoughts or info on the Maria ruffle cardigan or the Alpaca Kennedi jacket. I love them both but not sure if worth it for the $$$$. What about sizing? Thanks
November 12th, 2008 - 2:36 pm
Hi, if you call from the red phone or have your personal shopper place the order you can get free shipping with the 20%. Oh and I also noticed they dropped sale prices even after the 50% sale ended – they did it after the extra30 on the website sale ended too – I was happy because I waited and didn’t buy some things and then on Monday they were down lower than the price with the extra30 – I guess J.Crew is hurting a bit since they didn’t used to do that so quickly after the end of a a promotion…they had unloaded some more good stuff too –
So – did anyone find anything good in the new store rollouts yet?? I bought the map tee in the pewter – I had been waiting for it in my local store as I liked it better than the black that I tried on back in Sept – but otherwise I am still waiting and looking…:)
November 12th, 2008 - 3:09 pm
Aasha I got the map tee also. I loved the pewter but have already bought so many graphic tees in the pewter/seasalt/ivory scheme that I decided on the dark slate. I had to order from the red phone because my store did not have the dark slate. They did have the pewter and it is so beautiful, I almost got them both but decided to control myself.

I went to J.Crew Monday night after work and the whole store had been rearranged with new holiday items. I was excited to try on many new things and will review about them this week.

Aasha,
How does using a personal shopper get you free shipping? I now have a PS that I use and communicate with via email but I don’t know about the free shipping.
November 13th, 2008 - 9:40 am
Hi Ann, I think you have to be lucky with your PS – I have known and used mine for a long time now – she seems to be able to get free shipping as long as the item is full price even if there is a promo code…I hope I am not going to make anyone else unhappy…I know there is some inconsistency with this type of thing. I don’t get free shipping if it is a sale item, but I tend to try to get something full price. In general I try to do all my ordering through her as that is why I have the best luck with not being charged for shipping…They also know me in a couple of the other large stores in NYC and also in San Francisco so if my PS can’t get me something I call those two stores there and they will help me and also not charge to ship if it is shipped to my PS vs to me. So – if you don’t have a personal shopper yet and it seems like you buy a lot – maybe get one and then they can help you out too – hope that helps a bit…. I just had some alterations shipped to me (the tailor dropped them off with my PS) and I wasn’t charged for that.
November 13th, 2008 - 9:43 am
Sorry Ann – I just saw you said you had a PS now – if you like them they should be able to help you with getting free shipping etc – that is part of their job.

Aasha,
Thanks for the info. I just got a personal shopper via online on Monday so I haven’t used her yet to order anything. It was suggested to me by JCrew that I get one b/c of some ordering problems/errors and JCrew’s part that it might help to make ordering smoother. I do order a lot (and I have ordered a TON in the past) but I find my LOVE for JCRew wanning a bit now…I guess things go in cycles and not having a store nearby changes things…I had three by me for 3 1/2 years and people knew me at all 3 by name but now, online ordering has become somewhat more expensive and a pain (since the “upgrade” this summer. THanks again for your help:)
November 14th, 2008 - 8:50 am
Ann, Good luck – hope it helps. I moved recently and am now not near my PS
… and the nearest store is a really small one, so am sort of in the same boat, but so far so good – the alterations were shipped free of charge, and the nearby store shipped a return free also back to my PS (it was a complicated thing, I wanted it returned to my credit card and didn’t have the receipt…). I was also living overseas last year for a while and my PS would accumluate orders for me and ship them. So -good luck!! – when you buy a lot, like we do, they should go that extra mile for you -that is part of the ‘J.Crew’ thing, but you only get that with a PS…
November 14th, 2008 - 8:51 am
Ann, which online PS did you get? I have had two and the first one did nothing for me. The second one has been MUCH more helpful! Very nice and very accomodating!

Hey everyone. I really think that getting a personal shopper is the smartest thing that any J.Crew shopper can do as we head into the holiday season. Last Christmas, my personal shopper and I communicated via phone or email almost daily. He helped me get so many hard-to-find items in time. Everything was shipped promptly. I always received free shipping and my student discount was always honored. We have established a good relationship. He even sent me a holiday gift card from J.Crew!
