Yummy Promotion from Madewell this Weekend
I was sent the following heads up from a reader named Julia. This is a great promotion that Madewell is running.
J.Crew’s Madewell brand has been enchanting shoppers in awfully innovative ways. Last spring, the store was overrun with knitting paraphernalia. This weekend, the brand is catering to good taste in a more literal fashion. Madewell has created a snow cone cart to distribute refreshing treats to world-weary downtown types. Along with the sugary stuff, recipients will be given a coupon offering 15 percent off purchases at the store on the corner of Broadway and Broome Street. Be on the lookout! The cart debuts on Thursday and disappears on Sunday. But The Daily wonders: Where will this precious little thing retire? Our money’s on Mickey Drexler’s Montauk manse.
I am actually going to be in Manhattan this weekend! Now, I am going to have stop by the store with my boyfriend.

The last I heard, it was supposedly opening in the middle of July. Well…
I wonder if it got caught up in the J Crew site fiasco? They still have a notice on the website that it is “coming soon.”

Thanks Barbara for linking that site! I have visited it many times, but have not found it very functional yet. It seems like something they just threw up in case people visited the site, but not something they could actually use to shop. I will definitely write about it when it’s fully functional.
