I visited my local J.Crew store today and tried on the Penelope Mary Janes. They are so super cute. The shoes very just like the the Leather Mary Janes from last fall and the Distressed metallic-leather Mary Janes from last winter.

fashionableyetfrugal says: I really like the Penelope heels in the black and grey. What I don’t like is the price. I’m trying to justify getting them but when I can get a pair of Chie Mihara’s on sale for just a bit more I have to admit. the J.Crew shoes lose out. My husband likes them so maybe I can talk him into it.
Leigh says: I know exactly how you feel. The shoes are super fun, but what is not fun is the price point. At that price, for just a bit more, I can afford some designer shoes like Stuart Weitzman or Ferragamo. J.Crew’s shoe prices are slowly creeping up.
I’ll be waiting for the sale…
