August 3rd, 2008 - 1:58 pm
I still have my favorite J.Crew item of all time, and just pulled it out yesterday to see if it still fits (it does). It’s the bug-print skirt from 2005? It’s a bit snug but give it five more pounds lost and it will be back in the rotation. I love all the different bugs on it…so neat. I always get comments when I wear it.
August 3rd, 2008 - 2:57 pm
J. Crew tank tops! They work great in any color, whether worn alone, layered or under anything. I wear mine all year long. And the best part is, with a J. Crew outlet nearby, they’re affordable, too.
August 3rd, 2008 - 3:52 pm
My favorite is their cashmere sweaters. I have a yellow v-neck cable that fits SO perfectly and is the perfect color yellow for my skin. I have several v-necks plus a few others - their cashmere is excellent quality for the price point. Comparable to Ralph Lauren Black label which is SO much more $$$. And best when can catch my size on sale!
August 3rd, 2008 - 7:10 pm
J Crew’s Jackie cardigans. Classic, flattering, versatile, seasonless, the perfect weight to be worn year-round—not to heavy, not too light. I like that this is one staple they don’t mess with and bring back each season in new colors…… Just when I think that the rainbow of colors I already own are enough, they tempt me with scrumptious new shades like soft fushia, or papaya.
August 3rd, 2008 - 8:01 pm
My favorite is the Haverhill winter coat which I have in both camel and black. It’s wool-cashmere, double-breasted with a detachable collar & fully-lined. It’s so elegant, classy, with an amazing fit & keeps me warm too. I remember I bought it January 2007 when they had this amazing sale. It was originally more than $300 & I bought it for $97. It was a no-brainer, I bought two!
August 3rd, 2008 - 8:33 pm
It’s from Spring 07 and it’s sort of like the Alessia blouse that’s on sale right now. It’s a black and off-white print. It’s very dramatic looking and it looks great at work with a black skirt or with jeans on a Friday night. I get so many compliments and I just love it.
August 3rd, 2008 - 9:15 pm
My favorite J.Crew item are my trouser jeans from a few years ago. I’ve worn them to the point that they’re starting to be the “dingy” jeans, but they still fit just great. They have a classic cut and style that dresses up even the oldest of my paint-splattered shirts. They fit just so when I pull them on, and they’re still in style after a few years. They remind me of what I love about J.Crew’s clothes — modern classics you’ll love to put on every time you pull them off the hanger (or out of the drawer).
August 3rd, 2008 - 9:42 pm
Hi,
I’m just getting started with J.Crew (the last 6 months), but I am loving their colors. The clothes is all pretty awesome wish they were a bit more affordable for me - so I would say as far as an item - the colorful palette of SHOES!!!
P.S. Thanks for the blog!
August 4th, 2008 - 10:13 am
My fave item is my ivory winter coat I bought last year. It was the double cloth bella coat. I always get compliments on it when I wear it!
August 4th, 2008 - 10:16 am
Gosh, so many items to choose from! It’s like Sophie’s Choice! Ok, ok, so it’s not quite that level, but with J.Crew, it IS pretty hard, but if I had to choose (and I’d say if I wanna get me that there card, I do!), I would say that my favorite J.Crew item would have to be my suede Marsala ballet flats. I have two pairs - one in gold metallic and one in bark metallic. I plan on buying more in different colors; they’re such a cinch to wear and very comfortable! I wear them everywhere - work, going out with friends, walking the dogs, dates…
August 4th, 2008 - 1:24 pm
last winter’s wool peacoat fits me like a glove, I wish the weather here in california was colder so I could wear it more often. Other than that, everything that’s got the “tailored” fit is fantastic, since i’m a pretty skinny guy.
August 4th, 2008 - 6:14 pm
J. Crew coats, in general, are always my favorite items. They are consistently stylish, functional, and very well made. My most recent purchase was the Wool Pique Gramercy Coat in bright alpine from Fall/Winter 2007. The shape, color, and texture of the fabric is amazing. I always get compliments on it, because it is so adorable and unique. I think a lot of people are afraid to go for “wild” colors when it comes to winter coats, but winter is so drab, that it is fun to liven it up with a colorful coat from J. Crew. This coat was a replacement for my much-loved long double-cloth coat from a few years back in a bright coral-y red color, which also yielded lots of compliments.
August 4th, 2008 - 6:17 pm

August 4th, 2008 - 9:56 pm
My favorite is Cashmere Taffeta Bal D’Hiver dress. I was so fortunate to be able to purchase it. The garment is absolutely stunning. Hopefully, I can have a little girl one day so I can pass it to her.
Leigh, I think you have a pic of it somewhere on your website. Since J crew updated the website, it is almost imposiible to find pictures of previous collections, too sad.
August 4th, 2008 - 9:59 pm
Ana! I absolutely L-O-V-E that dress! It is gorgeous. I wore it to every holiday party last year and intend to get lots of wear from it again this year. By far, one my favorite J.Crew pieces.
Here is a photo of it:

August 4th, 2008 - 11:36 pm
I love J.Crew and have been wanting a cashmere sweater. Soft and cuddly and in fabulous colors!
August 5th, 2008 - 2:00 pm
My absolute favorite J. Crew items are my critter pants. I have them in so many colors - green with whales, teal with flip flops, blue with seahorses, white with lobsters, and white with fish. Not only are they comfy but they are adorable and uber preppy. I am so disappointed that J. Crew doesn’t carry a huge selection of critters anymore.
August 6th, 2008 - 7:02 pm
J crew driving mocs, i love that every season they change a bit, but are still classic and timeless!!
August 6th, 2008 - 8:01 pm
Sasha, I would highly suggest getting a cashmere sweater. The first one I ever bought with was with my J.Crew Card rewards card. I rationalized it by saying that it was free. Technically, it was. I earned those points. But you’ll be hooked and you’ll want more cashmere!
August 7th, 2008 - 1:39 pm
My all time favorite J. Crew item would have to be the Men’s Fleece Hoodie. I love it so much that I have it in three colors: Red, Navy and Gray. It is my go to hoodie for lounging around the house, going out to run an errand or whatever. I would give an arm and a leg to have those hoodies!
August 9th, 2008 - 8:07 am
CRAZINESSS - thi is like choosing a favorite child! I have a tie between 2 items. is that allowed? LOL. It’s a tie between the Talitha Patchwork camisole - I am just CRAZY for that print, and I *still* can’t find it in my size - and the Greenwich tweed jacket, which I have in 2 colors, and I even have the matching half-tweed, half-silk top that goes with one of them. Those are my top holy grail pieces.
August 9th, 2008 - 9:40 am
My favorite is the J crew Collection cashmere Mina sweater jacket which I have in two colors Grey & Orange. Super Soft and Thick 9-gauge Italian knit cashmere with a mandarin style collar and over sized buttons. This sweater goes with everything big 70’s style jeans, skinny jeans, dress pants, full skirts, looks great with the talitha long gown(in orange). This sweater is the definition of my style. Classic with a little hint of retro/mod. Originally the sweater was priced at $395.00 however I got it on sale for $199 plus I got free shipping. (big smiles)
August 9th, 2008 - 6:47 pm
Vintage fit stretch cords - EVERY year I buy a pair when they go on sale so I have them for our SF summers. Loving the green this year, not sure if I will be able to hold out until they go on sale…
August 9th, 2008 - 11:59 pm
My favorite J Crew item is the sherpa fleece hoodies - not the most stylish item, perhaps, but definitely the warmest and most comfortable. I’ve bought at least one a year for the past few years now, and I love them!
August 10th, 2008 - 2:13 pm
This is a tough one…hmmmmmmm…
My favorite has got to be the leather capri sandals ($49.50 at the time) and here’s why:
I was visiting some friends in Providence, RI a couple of years back and was walking through the “East Side” near Brown University. There I was strolling along the cobblestone roads in a denim mini skirt and J Crew capri sandals when all of a sudden, SMACK! I trip over a raised cobblestone and fall face down on the ground! It must’ve been funny because my “friends” (or witnesses as I now call them!) started laughing hysterically and cackling like a coven of New England witches! So there I was: on the ground with scraped knees and hands, my skirt hiked over my arse, looking like a fresh crime victim. But would you believe those capri sandals remained perfectly in tact?!
They don’t look like much, but they can really take a beating—-unlike my friends who discovered that fact for themselves later that evening…;)
August 12th, 2008 - 5:48 pm
Though I have owned many J. Crew items through the years, I have to say that my favorite was the first one that I bought–a blue Shetland sweater bought in 1996. I wore the heck out of that thing all through college! it served me so well.
August 12th, 2008 - 6:00 pm
Wow, Meg! Now, that’s a favorite item. I have a white long sleeved tissue tee that I purchased in 7th grade and still wear today, nearly 10 years. It’s an oldie, but a goodie.
August 14th, 2008 - 10:22 pm
when I was younger and thinner, I had a lovely Cashmere cardigan that I always wore. It was super soft, and could be worn casual or dressy-it was a classic piece of my wardrobe and well worth the price. Now, a bit heftier I can’t fit into them anymore, but my daughter can, and I would love her to have her own classic cardigan.
August 15th, 2008 - 1:13 am
I’d have to say my favorite item of all time from J.Crew is something I have yet to buy but am already in love with: a fall wool coat with an exceptional bow-tie detail at the collar. Four simple buttons go down the coat, giving the same characteristic of an effortlessly chic aura I find in all my J.Crew items. The bow in particular is what I love the most because it’s those cheeky little details (similar to the new satin fleur clutch). Sophistication boiled down to one perfectly executed flower, twist, pleat, drape, and/or fabric. I enjoy the color of the particular jacket for this season, as well: an elegant, warm mustard color that’s perfect for the dreary colors mostly seen during the winter months. All in all, this jacket is my dream coat. I can’t wait to purchase it(hopefully with the giftcard I win! ^_~)!
August 15th, 2008 - 10:35 am
My favorite item of all time is a Cotton Argyle Halter top (maybe 4 years old). It is white with navy and kelly green diamonds. I usually where it with navy capris or white pants. I wore it to a book reading by Jane Stanton Hitchcock (amazing author, I recommend “One Dangerous Lady”) with a white, a-line, pleated shirt that sit just below the knee and heels. I pulled my dark hair back in a pony tail to accentuate the halter. A lady came over to me and said that I looked just like Charlotte from Sex and the City….I rank this as my best complement of all time. I owe it to the outfit mainly the top (thank you J.Crew). After receiving a complement like that you have to act fast so thats what I did, the next day I ordered the halter in the white/navy and geranium combo. I have worn that top too many times but the navy and kelly Argyle Halter totally gives me the ZA ZA ZOO…..love it!
August 15th, 2008 - 12:39 pm
I love their handbags! The Owen Hobo that they have right now is so hot!
August 15th, 2008 - 3:08 pm
Their hoodies. Especially the men’s fleece one. So comfy and warm. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
August 15th, 2008 - 3:36 pm
My husband has a necktie (green) with the emblem of the “crew guy” all over it. It’s especially special because we met on the crew team (rowing) in college. So it brings back nice memories when he wears it.
August 15th, 2008 - 3:57 pm
My favorite thing is the Petite airy lawn Bobbie sundress in soft fuschia!
I love the little ruffles and the adjustable straps!

I am a J.Crew fan too!!! My favorite store.. I also love their bags….Thanks for this great chance!
August 15th, 2008 - 5:13 pm
I still love and wear my crewneck black tissue tee from 2004. Luckily, it’s still in great shape — thanks to Woolite. Back then, the tissue tees had a little bit of spandex in them, so when I pair it with a great pair of jeans and some strappy heels, I’m set for any night — whether we go to a fancy restaurant or just to the neighborhood bar. Perfect.
August 15th, 2008 - 5:16 pm
Am: I remember when the tissue tees used to have spandex in them. That was ages ago! I still have many that I wear all the time. They are so comfortable.
August 16th, 2008 - 2:58 am
My absolute favorite item would have to be the wool gabardine dress. It goes well for company functions and weddings. It’s been quite difficult for me to find half sleeves on dresses and this is one of those rare ones that do.

By the way, does anyone know where I can find the Cashmere Taffeta Bal D’Hiver dress, reference to comment 14 & 15 (by Ana & Leigh). I just saw the comments and absolutely love this dress now!
August 16th, 2008 - 5:50 pm
Hey Barbara. The Cashmere Taffeta Bal D’Hiver dress is from last Holiday season. It came out on the website on the Friday after Thanksgiving and sold out within minutes! I was lucky enough to the grab one in my size. It was a splurge buy, but it was the Holiday season and I decided that I deserved. I think it was $500. (Yelp.)
August 16th, 2008 - 7:35 pm
Thanks for the response Leigh. I will just keep an eye out for it on Ebay or hope that it may or a similar style will be sold.
If anyone has any leads on this dress please let me know, it’ll be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
August 16th, 2008 - 7:51 pm
I bought a pastel colored argyle sweater a couple of years ago and it’s just made of such pretty colors and it’s so soft. I really love it! I don’t have a photo link of it though.
August 16th, 2008 - 7:55 pm
Being a New Englander, J.Crew represents so much more to me then clothes. Whether it is worn in chinos with a crisp button down, or a polo paired with seersucker pants, the clothing J.Crew sells reminds me of the New England lifestyle I grew up knowing so well. Today, I live in a city, but I still love starting off my seasonal shopping with a trip to J. Crew. My favorite item is the Cambridge Cable Sweater…they come in an array of colors and they are a foolproof choice for work, weekends, or even going out. They also remind me of everything fall and winter - hunting for the perfect pumpkin, raking leaves, or cosying up to a fireplace with the snow falling outside - I wore cable knit sweaters all throughout my childhood and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!

August 16th, 2008 - 8:58 pm
My favorite item is the Dani peacoat from Winter 07 in black. The thickness and texture of the wool is just so fantastic. Putting it on feels like soft armor - it’s sumptuous, cozy, flattering, and long lasting…everything a great item of clothing should be!
August 17th, 2008 - 11:33 am
I love almost all their coats its so hard to pick a favorite but right now this is my fave.

I think this dress is so beautiful. I just love it in the Black , White or Blue color. It was hard to choose just one. I picked out 12 items that are just beautiful but I narrowed it down to 4 items and then just picked one. lol

Heather, I bought the Daphne gown for my wedding also and it is so beautiful! Perhaps you would consider posting some pics from your wedding day? I think we would all love to see how stunning you looked in your gown!
August 20th, 2008 - 8:21 pm
I love love the Jackie cardigans! I wear them constantly. Great for all seasons! They add a touch of elegance. OH and my Vachetta sandals that I waited 2 monthes for…I have lived in them practically all summer. I get so many compliments on them.
P.S. I just came across your blog recently and I am addicted! Thank you for your blog! I had an “why didn’t I think of that” moment when I found your blog. Great Job!
August 25th, 2008 - 11:22 am
i love so much–but i always love their tees. I have so many! last year i bought so many of the crest tees and this year i want the shoe tee and the tailor shop tee. They look great layered with so many things. also, the ballet flats–i have too many styles to count them all. Thanks for visiting my blog and letting me know about the skirt/dress. love your blog!
August 25th, 2008 - 3:55 pm
Shoes, shoes and more shoes! Particularly any and all ballet flats.
Currently on my shopping list: Serengeti ballet flats (in the burnt sienna).
August 31st, 2008 - 12:37 am
I’m not in it to win it…but scarves. I love their scarves!! Silk, wool, cotton, printed and solids. I have to have them all. I find wearing them with plain jeans/white shirt will make any outfit look different.
August 31st, 2008 - 8:59 am
Definitely a classic black cashmere cardigan. I wish I could live in cashmere all day every day.
August 31st, 2008 - 7:36 pm

my all-time favorite, never to be replaced by any copycat, is the tortoise headband….it just goes well with anything season to season year after year…it is very durable and doesn’t seem to age…i have 3 in different bags…
September 1st, 2008 - 11:36 am
My favorite piece of J. Crew clothing has to be the yellow Piazza sweater jacket I purchased last summer. Not only is it a beautiful piece of clothing but I’ve made so many great memories in it. I wore it to Italy last summer with my in-laws (my mother-in-law loved it!!). It is one of those pieces that I hope lasts forever!!!
September 1st, 2008 - 1:42 pm
The absolute best has to be J. Crew t-shirts–preferably white, black or gray–it can be worn for absolutely anything or anywhere…bed, breakfast, lunch or dinner; dressed up or down; wih or without pearls..who could ask for anything more???
September 1st, 2008 - 3:48 pm
I love the City Fit Watson Pant #96107–it can be dressed up or down and comes in a great range of basic colors. Second place goes to the Slub-Cotton (Ringspun) Boatneck (Painter) Tee–comfy & versatile. And, it comes in so many great colors; right now, I’m super sad that the Warm Sunflower slipped away before I could grab it in my size!
September 1st, 2008 - 4:01 pm
I have a HUGE collection of theirs sashes and belts…the tortise link velvet ribbon ones, the silk sashes (also used as headbands), beaded crystal ribbon belts, tie belts, critter belts, patent leather I could go on and on…they really can make an outfit:) I have my own little JCrew belt collection…I have been a HUGE fan since 2001!

The Daphne dress is hot!
September 2nd, 2008 - 9:43 am
My favorite item is the Italian calfskin Jamie handbag. It is gorgeous!

September 2nd, 2008 - 7:55 pm
My favorite piece of J. Crew clothing is my grey button down collar shirt with sleeves that roll up and button. I have had it for a few years, and it is the perfect shirt for work, paired with a black pencil skirt and pumps. Sadly, it is also the only piece of J. Crew clothing I own. I know, I know, for all of my obsessing over them, I only own one thing! One day I will be making enough money where I can actually buy all of the marvelous things they sell. Until then, I will just have to keep stalking them online, and force my bridesmaids to buy their dresses there, of course
September 3rd, 2008 - 1:10 pm
I love J.Crew’s flipflops! They are so comfy and amazing, they don’t smell awful like others and they last forever!!!!!
September 4th, 2008 - 12:04 pm
My bootcut jeans with a vintage wash are my favorite! Its like they come already “broken in” and they aren’t stiff like some other brands! Thanks!
September 5th, 2008 - 9:59 pm
I love their jeans.. any style .. I have a hard body to fit and you now if you find a brand that fits BUY THE WHOLE STORE OUT… these fit my hips and tush and all PERFECTLY!! I love myJCrew jeans!
September 6th, 2008 - 10:27 am
Pretty much impossible for me to pick one, but based on what I have been wearing a lot lately (and getting lot of compliments too which is always nice:) including in Barneys and other places like that!) I guess it would be my “Whisper Lame Tiered Skirt” - it is the silver ruffle J.Crew Collection Skirt from this past Spring/Summer (that is on the sale page in some sizes - Highly recommended!!). I LOVE this skirt. I have worn it all over NYC and San Francisco as well as at home, with cowboy boots and a black sequin crest T as well as a simple long sleeve white T. It is just so great and I am so glad I bought it, even at full price…..I also love my Sapphire Taffeta parlor skirt from last year that I know is a piece I will get out year after year, and my Houndstooth Gramercy Coat - the Fabric is a soft and beautiful as it was described……Oh and I like my Lexington Jacket in Black with Ivory piping - the one that was a copy of a Balenciaga (and I saw that one and I think the J.Crew was just as nice/nicer) - esp as I got this jacket final sale
- there was a bidding war on Ebay with people paying more than the original price!!! OK well I’ll end it now
September 6th, 2008 - 11:20 am
I just love their jersey knit dresses. I fell in love with them after getting the tie front dress. It looks so elegant yet feels like you’re wearing one big t-shirt! I ended up getting that dress in 2 colors, and then got the lisa dress, which I love just as much (especially with a jackie cardigan thrown over it!)
September 6th, 2008 - 3:09 pm
A light weight anywhere any time khaki jacket
September 6th, 2008 - 4:49 pm
To choose just one item is impossible….oh how I adore all of the classic preppy looks in quality fabrics and flattering styles that JCrew offers. As I must pick just one, I’ll go with my best JCrew buy ever - The Vivian Wedding Dress. I bought it on clearance for $39.95 (originally $495) back in 2004-5. I stuck it away thinking it could always be an option if I came across the right guy (I am not the girl who has had her wedding day planned since childhood - instead I figured it would all fall together if it was meant to be). Anyway, I got engaged a couple of months ago and pulled out the dress only to decide that it is absolutely perfect for the big day. As it is a retired item, I found some links to show you what it looks like:

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c172/burnedoutsky/65597_NA6434_HOL06_m.jpg
The simple lines, beautiful fabric (mine is off white) and simple box pleat detail and wide hem make for an understated and elegant dress - only JCrew could offer simple perfection like this!
September 13th, 2008 - 9:23 pm
It’s boring, but the tanks and tee’s are pure perfection. they are always a no-brainer for me and can dress up or down anything.
September 14th, 2008 - 8:53 pm
I love the khali jackey….
God bless our troops
September 16th, 2008 - 11:53 am
It’s so hard to pick one, but I would have to say my favorite J Crew item is the summerweight cashmere cardigan. I have two and would love more. They are super soft and just the right weight. I wear them year round.
September 16th, 2008 - 2:11 pm
I love love love the JCrew slub cotton shirts. Not only are they lightweight and oh so comfortable but the quality is superb and holds up so well even after multiple washes and wears. Fantastic all around.
September 16th, 2008 - 2:25 pm
I fell in love with JCrew’s jeans not too long ago. i have like 7 pairs!!!
September 17th, 2008 - 3:02 am
havervill winter coat
September 17th, 2008 - 10:52 pm
Hmm… my favorite right now is definitely the bright pencil skirts. It’s classic enough to wear to the office, but the color really makes it pop!

Paws down - the 2005 (?) season wool cardigan with the Scotties across the collarbone.
Every time I put this sweater on, I remember my Scottie - Lucy - I grew up with. I’m warm and cozy and all ginny inside thinking about her. And I get more compliments on how cute this sweater is than anything else I own.
Best sweater ever!
September 18th, 2008 - 3:40 pm
My favorite is a pair of high waisted jean I got 7 years ago. I still, to this day, wear them at least once a week and get compliments on them. I’m never giving them up!
September 19th, 2008 - 10:49 am
Favorite item of all time has to be the women’s military jacket with the long row of brass buttons down the front. It is timeless and I never fail to reach for it when the weather starts to turn cold.

My favorite item is the Celeste wedding dress from 2006. Right after I got engaged last summer I hopped on ebay and after a few months of searching and craigslisting, I got an email to head over to ebay to see the dress. In my size no less! I love it and I can’t wait to wear it. Unfortunalty, they pulled the link off the web or I’d include it for you to see

J.Crew had these t-shirts last summer… some of the colors almost looked tie-dyed - very splotchy - but I bought one in a coral color that didn’t look that way. It is my all-time favorite t-shirt. So soft, fits so well. I have been looking for J.Crew to put it out again ever since with no luck. It’s my holy grail of t-shirts!

My favorite is a navy shawl collar sweater from last year, love it with jeans and a necklace. Also, the Fiona gray tweed jacket I just got on sale and wear with the green bauble necklace. Love too many things!

My favorite J.Crew item is most definately the colored cardigan sweaters. They are lightweight, go great with so many things, and can be used for an eclectic look. I wear one at least twice a week if not more, even in the summer! It can be dressy or for a more casual look I slip a t-shirt in underneath. I love love love the cardigan!

My favorite j.crew item is definitely the Jackie cardigan. The first one I purchased was a beautiful shade of green my senior year in college and it still looks just as awesome four years later.

My favorite is my bella jacket/blazer from last year, I have the eggplant purple color. I love it because you can wear it to work, out at night instead of bringing a big jacket or with a pair of jeans on the weekend! I am happy it is getting cooler here in the Northeast so I can take it out of my closet!

I’m gonna say their men’s pants, because they actually have ones I like in my size. a rarity.

I haven’t been a J Crew customer for long. I found out about J Crew approximately a year ago - through this blog to be exact. I am in Vancouver, BC and the closest J Crew Store is 3-1/2 hours away. But this blog and the online store has fueled my J Crew obsession.
Having lost over 50 lbs, I was forced to overhaul my entire wardrobe. I got to my goal weight about the same time I found out about J Crew. As you can imagine, 95% of my wardrobe today is by J Crew. Many of my friends and collegues find this most interesting seeing that there’s no J Crew store in Canada and that I have to pay duties on every J Crew item I import into Canada. Nevertheless, my obsession with J Crew grows exponentially each day.
My all time favorite item from J Crew is the Wool Pique Gramercy Coat. It’s my all time favorite item because of the timeless yet ultra feminine design. It is a double breasted coat with 4 large fabric covered buttons, Peter-Pan collar and empire waist. The coat is reminicent of something Kristin Davis’ character Charlotte would wear on Sex and the City. It looks great with skirts and with pants. I get numerous compliments from total strangers whenever I wear the Gramercy.
I absolutely LOVE my Gramercy Coat - so much so that I own it in 3 different colors - the Fabulous Bright Flame, the Stunning Alpine Green and the Classic Black. Part of the allure of the Gramercy is truly the color and no one does color like J Crew.
It is unfortunate that J Crew did not reintroduce the Gramercy for the Fall 2008 collection. Had the coat come in my Fall 2008 Must Have color - Plum, I would have surely purchased one. Nonetheless, I’m thrilled to be wearing my Gramercy Coats for a second time this winter. To add further panache to my coats will be my recently purchased Dulken & Derrik Silk Flowers. These beautiful J Crew inspired flowers will add that 2008 look to my 2007 coats.
The Gramercy is my pick as my all-time favorite J Crew item. Here are the links to the coat:

I have these kaki capris with flowers stitched on the sides. I bought them years ago on sale for 6/99 at J crew and I still love them.

I love so many of their dresses - I’m hunting for the perfect J Crew wedding dress right now.
But my current obsession is the Georgia Dress. I love the pockets and right now I love the price!

I have to say I love this season’s Sketchbook Roses Belle Skirt. I only really discovered J.Crew this past summer so my frame of reference for “all time” is limited, but this is probably my favorite piece so far. It’s not as flashy as some of the other pieces this season, but it is definitely a beautiful, classic piece.
I was curious about this skirt because the pattern is similar to that of a Chanel scarf I saw in Lucky magazine last month or the month before. I thought the skirt was pretty online, but I was afraid that it was overpriced. I was pleasantly surprised by it when I saw it in the store. I tried it on, and I fell in love with it. The silk taffeta is so soft and smooth and light as air. The roses do look like a charcoal sketch, as they are a soft shaded graphite color, but they also have a hint of shimmer because of the silk taffeta fabric. I tried the skirt on and decided it was worth every penny; I took it home with me.
The shape of this Belle is a bit fuller than the cotton taffeta Belles. It almost looks as though it has some crinoline underneath it, even though it doesn’t have anything but the thin lining layer. The fuller shape gives the skirt a flattering, waist-cinching 50s silhouette when paired with a form-fitting top. I paired this skirt with a tucked-in black cashmere ¾ sleeve turtleneck, skinny black patent belt on the skirt’s waist, pearls, and simple black heels, and put my hair in a loose chignon. When I saw myself I was vaguely reminded of Grace Kelly in Rear Window, which is impressive because believe me I look nothing like Grace Kelly. I plan to wear this outfit to my rehearsal dinner this Friday Oct. 3.
I can see how the fullness of this skirt wouldn’t work for everyone, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It worked wonderfully for me, and I think that makes it at least worth a try
I am so glad I paid attention to this skirt!

I love the Cecilia Cami!! I bought it in the fall of 2007. I usually wear plain things in black, beige, brown, etc. But this top is so fun! I can wear it out or under a suit to work! They no longer have it online but I found it at the following website…
