Must Have Been a J.Crew Hit

$150.00, Item 93624

While browsing the J.Crew website today, I noticed that the Confetti Bateau Top was added to the New Arrivals section.  Now as a J.Crew-aholic, I know that this is not a new arrival.  It debuted this past spring and quickly sold out.

I guess it was so popular that J.Crew decided to reintroduce it.  Are you going to purchase this top now that it is back in stock?

I really love this top, but I’m not sure how much I’d wear it once I got it. It’s always too cold in my office for something like that, and a cardigan would look a little strange with the neckline. It’s too nice to wear every day (especially since I have a four-year-old).

Either way, it is darling! I wonder if they’ll bring anything else back?

I loved it too when it first came out in the spring, but I think white is too bright right now as we head into fall. I would have the same problem that you have if I were to purchase it. A cardigan would just not look right with this necklace. I do, however, love the detailing on the top.

Hi, I’ve been reading your blog for a while but haven’t posted before. Thanks for all the info! As an avid J.Crew shopper, I also noticed this top and I’m not sure why they put in on the ‘new arrivals’ pages. Re the sold out posts, I would suggest to people who want the metallic cloque skirt, jardin sheath dress - never fear…:) I have learnt from experience - just about EVERYTHING - including all the J.Crew collection pieces that I bought at full price last year eg my Houndstooth Gramercy coat, the Galassia jacket, the taffeta rugby skirt that I sucked it up and paid full price for a size 2 and had tailored to a zero as I wanted it so much - anyway - they ALL - appeared on the Sale pages eventually, if you check carefully. This despite what J.Crew may tell you about Collection pieces being gone once they sell out etc etc. So to people who wanted those pieces, I am finding more and more, that unless I really want something right away, you can pick and choose then watch the sale pages very carefully and check daily, as just about everything will show up - maybe not in every color, and you have to buy it within an hour or so of seeing it if you want a zero for example, but it shows up. Hope this helps! Thanks again for the great blog :)

    Hi Aasha,

Thanks for reading the blog! Your comment was really insightful.

I am the same way with Collection pieces. I love them to death and I really want them and convince myself to shell out full price for them. Then they end up on sale and I get kind of irked.

I justify it by telling myself that my size will not be available come sale time. You and I both being small sizes, we know how limited those are and they sell out quickly!

But I am learning more and more to wait. I will usually order at full price just to make sure I know how everything fits. At least then, I have a good idea if it ever goes on sale. And sometimes, I find that I do not love it as much when I see it person.

I am glad you’re enjoying the blog!

    Cheers,
    Leigh
