Some actually is leather coated with a varnish. I have seen a few cute coats out of it, but this isn't one of them. The "generous A line fit" comment made me laugh. Considering how big their "blousy" size 0 Harlow blouse was on my normally size 4 body, I can imagine using this to go camping - as the tent. All patent leather isn’t fake. Look at how many layers they had to put on her! They had to bulk her up underneath to make the coat not look too ridiculous. Aasha, if this coat were on Project Runway, I agree that it would voted off in a heartbeat. It's a mess. I anticipate it going straight to final sale. And thanks for the compliment! There is another blog (not nearly as good as yours Leigh!) where people are calling it the 'serial killer coat' :) Maybe like something people get voted off "Project Runway" for making, also comes to mind, vs an item presumably designed by Jenna and co.....
