Yes, You Can Wear J.Crew White Denim After Labor Day

J.Crew recently introduced a new feature in the Mens section of the website called, “Jack knows best.”

For any questions related to mens fashion and styling, Jack has got it covered. On the site, there are some questions and answers from Jack. I found the following question about wearing white after Labor Day to be relevant given the holiday was yesterday.

Can I wear white jeans after Labor Day?

Absolutely. White or wheat-colored denim works year-round, despite what the old rule says. As soon as it gets colder,wear them with sturdy boots (right now I’m particularly attached to my Red Wings) and heavy gauge sweaters or a great tweed sportcoat.

May be old fashioned, but it just looks out of place…not a cold weather friendly color. Nothing looks worse than rain or dirt splattered white pant legs; regardless of the time of year. Just not buying the “new concept”

I have always been a stickler for white between Memorial Day and Labour Day for a long time. However, I now live in Southern California where a lot of people, especially women, push the white pants year round. And for us our summer is July-August-September and October. Temperatures soar to the 100’s even through November. This makes it really confusing for fashion. I think the white or wheat denim is acceptable as long as you don’t look like you are still at the beach unless, like me, you are.
