I want both, they are beautiful.

  3. jcsweatergirl says:

$6.00-$8.00 is fairly standard for salon quality nail polish, check out the prices @ ULTA, & Beauty Brands…they’re about the same as J.Crew!

  4. Jamie says:

Anyone know if the polish is only available at J.Crew? Or if salons that sell Essie nailpolish will also carry the colors?

  5. erin says:

both polishes are available at ulta. beware, though – ‘one of a kind’ is really bright, though it looks more like a pleasant orange-red online. it is part of essie’s neon collection, i think. i passed on it last week and went back today to give it another look. still too bright. i ended up buying an OPI that looked more like the bottle of polish on the jcrew site. i almost bought ‘eternal optimist’, too, but it looks like such a basic nude in person and i have a pale essie pink already that i like a lot. so i went with a fun purple in OPI’s new spain collection!

    hope that helps!

    update:

the polish i bought instead of ‘one of a kind’ was actually essie, not OPI. the color is ‘lacquered up’. i just took it to a salon and had my nails painted – i LOVE the orangey red and think it looks closer to what i see on my computer screen when i look at ‘one of a kind’ on the jcrew site.

I actually found these in a set of four mini bottles at Trade Secret- the other two colors were an indigo-blue and a bright pink! The set was $12.95. I have to admit though, I like OPI much better than Essie.

  8. Mara says:

I’ve tried on Eternal Optimist so far and the light pink is so cute, especially if you’ve gotten tan this summer. The polish goes on streaky though.

  9. Ashley says:

I love Essie. I purchased both “One of Kind” and “Eternal Optimist” the minute I got the J Crew catalog. I love the neon orange shade. But, “Eternal Optimist” once it’s applied is streaky. I also purshased “Sarah Smile” by Deborah Lippman. And, I have the same problem. You almost have to do 3 coats to cover up any lines. Any tips?

  10. Puglady says:

see, this has always been my beef with essie. streaky. i much prefer OP as far as coverage and consistency. it’s always touch to have a pale color not be streaky, and if i need to do 3 coats of it to get good coverage, that’s not gonna work for me. :-/ oh well.

  11. Puglady says:

that is, OPI. i prefer OPI. geesh.

  12. Ashley says:

Well- I pretty much have purchased every brand you can for pale colors from OPI to Revlon. But, their all streaky. So, unless you want lines, then your almost forced to do more then one coat.

  13. Ashley says:

I suppose my question was worded wrong? I’m trying to avoid streaky nails. :)

Not sure if both colors are available at Duane Reade, but Duane Reade (at least the ones in New York City) carry a large selection of Essie polish. I’m a fan of Essie polish in “Innocent”.
