J.Crew updated its website this morning with new arrivals. The December catalog is also available to view online. Please click here to view the catalog.
I, for one, am still in shock that next week is Thanksgiving and Black Friday will follow. I can’t believe the holidays came around so around quickly. I just don’t feel prepared!
Luckily, J.Crew is going to help get me there. The catalog and the new items are so cheerful and bright for the holidays.

Some very nice pieces but nothing I have to have. I really like unique garments from JCrew but not over the top embellished stuff…simple elegance for me:)
Thanks for the catalog link:) Fun to browse:)

Oh wow, I am going to go broke…! I already left my PS a message. I am ordering the Liquid Gold Sequin Skirt today (I’m a skirt girl), and as for everything else…I’ll have to browse more slowly - lots of pretty things. I’m glad they brought out the crackle metallic in a peep toe heel as that is one of their most comfortable styles of shoes (FYI all - the closed toe style is not very comfortable). I also took a quick look at the jewelry and I like the Alice in Wonderland Charm Bracelet, although not ure about the resin links. Anyway, so many gorgeous things….Have to check back in later and see what everyone else wrote. Thanks again for the blog Leigh. Oh and Ann, I absolutely understand your point of view, I think it depends on your personal style - I don’t put all the sequin things together!!! But I do like to wear some of these pieces and so far I have yet to ever have anyone tell me I look like a train wreck

Aasha,
Yes, I know some people just LOVE sequins but I am one who doesn’t. So I guess my wallet is liking this new Dec. catalog:) Glad you see some things you like though!

In the new catalog they have the Clara Chiffon Cardigan in the bright poppy on the model. I had not thought about the color before, but I really like it with the white long sleeve tee underneath. So many things I would like to get!!!

speaking of after thanksgiving sales, any idea if jcrew is having any special deals?
November 18th, 2008 - 4:53 pm
In the past JCrew has not participated in any Black Friday sales. They just have their normal sales and/or promotions going on….
November 18th, 2008 - 5:38 pm
I just heard that the JCrew outlets are having bigger sales though!

I love the pailette cardigan that Leigh purchased. It does remind me of a sweater my mother had but that’s a good thing. Also the duchess dots pencil skirt. I can never have too many black skirts (or grey sweaters for that matter) and this is a great variation. I also think the cashmere silk shimmer cardigan is nice–a little more subtle but still festive. Unfortunately none of these items are in the store near my house. I did see the Clara Chiffon in bright poppy though. It is quite striking.

Just received my catalog and there was a $25 gift card in it to use on a $125 purchase by 12/24 - not all of the catalogs have them though as my co-worker’s did not (she was sad!). So don’t thow in your shredder without looking!

Just got my InStyle mag & wow there are lots of sequin embellished items shown ~ so glad I got the cashmere sequin trimmed cardi in gray!!!! There is the gold coloured wool serge coat from JC as well in the IS issue.

I love the sequined chiffon tanks, the red taffeta dress, and the pink boucle scarf jacket. If anyone tries the jacket on, I’d love to know what you think of the fit and the weight of the fabric (is it warm enough to wear on a cold winter day?)
November 19th, 2008 - 6:28 am
My closest JC is 2 1/2 hrs. away so need some advice from all of you. I also wonder if the pink scarf jacket is warm enough for winter and also is it slim or generous cut? My other question is the the color on the honey glaze Penny Jacket. I am a blonde/blue eyes and some yellows I can wear and some not. Its so difficult to order items you cannot see/try on. Thank you for any help you can offer.

I too am blonde/blue eyed. The Honey Glaze, in my opinion, looks sensational on blondes. I have it in the Jackie cardi and also the Andrea jacket. I have trouble with the citron colors, however. HTH.
November 19th, 2008 - 9:14 am
Nancy, I have blond hair and the honey glaze in that jacket is really pretty as it is in the velvet fabric. Agree to avoid the Citron colors. I also like the look of the Pink scarf jacket that everyone commented on - I am just a bit worried as mohair can sometimes be itchy. Whoever tries it first maybe can post. I also like the metallic houndstooth coat/jacket. Ann - I know that sequins are not everyone’s taste and they are everywhere - J.Crew’s are very shiny too for anyone who hasn’t bought anything with them yet, esp the silver and gold ones…:)

OT - I would really like to grab the Tissue Sequin Henley in Moss. I am normally not matchy but I would love a moss cardigan to go with it. I have been going over the website and catalog trying to find one that would look okay. Any opinions? Maybe the Melanie in Golden Avocado? Thanks in advance. I am starting to go crazy trying to figure this out!
November 24th, 2008 - 4:40 am
I like the Crawford cami–interested in the fit if anyone gets it….I think it is online only. JCrew’s sizing has been “off” for me lately in their cami’s.
November 30th, 2008 - 9:59 am
I love the Duchess Dots skirt. I went to the website to order it and I cannot find it, even with a search. Does anyone know, does this mean it is not yet available, or already sold out? Usually the sold out items are still viewable on the website along with the “Wish we made more of this item…” message.
