I love so many items from the new collection, but I don’t quite get these three pieces. Paint, camouflage and neon are interesting materials.
Vintage slim jean in painter wash, $168.00, Item 23397
Charcoal camo Delancey pant, $85.00, Item 22735

I noticed the use of camo and well, I don’t know. I’m sensing that they may be going for a more relaxed look, but I’m just not a camo person.
I work at a J.Crew store in Georgia and the Charcoal camo Delancey pant looks much better on than just seeing it on a model or on a table. It is a very flattering pant. I was not a big fan of it at first but after doing a store fit session and seeing many of the women associates wearing it I will say I like it much better.
J. Crew sold similar jeans about 5 or 6 years ago; I remember thinking they were silly at first–with their perfect paint splatters and grease rings/stains–and then buying a pair. I still have them in my closet and only rocked them a few times–jeans that are perfectly distressed look better in the catalog than in real life.
I dig the neon necklace, but the camo? Not sure how I feel about those pants…
I have to admit I love the little neon beaded necklace (although I am fairly certain I could craft it myself with ease)…and I love love a good distressed jean with paint and strategic wear (I’m thinking of ordering said jeans)…I really don’t know how I feel about the camo….I guess I’d have to see it on, but I just don’t think I’d rock it…an odd choice for Jcrew indeed!
I was surprised that J Crew-purveyors of stylish preppy- would stoop to think we would buy jeans that look like we painted something. Pretty sad to charge us high prices for something we could find at Good Will.
Surprise also came across my face when I saw camo…what do people really wear camo for? Killing people or animals. Huh, really J Crew, is this fashionable?
Don’t get me wrong, I love J Crew, I just feel these are real mistakes.
