The Fall Collection arrived my local store on Tuesday morning. I was there on Tuesday afternoon, browsing in excitement. I left the store with only one item, neatly wrapped up in my bag: the Pique Andrea Jacket. Because I already have many winter coats from J.Crew from last year, I know that I don’t need a new one this year.
The Andrea Jacket will be my great transitional piece, my fall into winter jacket. I love the brass buttons, although they did look bigger in the catalog. The collar is also very feminine. The jacket is not a shocking yellow, unlike the Herringbone Ecole Jacket I tried on in sour lemon. The jacket fit very true to size, which enough room to wear a pullover or heavy sweater underneath. It will look great with a pair of black slacks or blue jeans.
$230.00, Item 95680, also in Petite
Last night, I braved a severe thunderstorm here in Pennsylvania where it was actually hailing to return to the store. (It might seem obsessive, but it was better than sitting at home and watching the rain.) This time, J.Crew Collection pieces were on the floor!
I was so excited because I do adore the J.Crew Collection. I tried on the Sparkle Plaid Tweed Pencil Skirt and it fit like a glove. This skirt is high-waisted and fits true to size. It hits right at knee so it is perfect for the office. With a great blouse and some heels, this skirt can be perfect for dinner, too.
$175.00, Item 96176
I also tried on the Metallic Cloque Pencil Skirt. The fit is just the same as the Sparkle Plaid Tweed Pencil Skirt, but the fabric is lighter, a lot more airy than tweed. I tried on the matching Metallic Cloque Clea Jacket, but the thought the set together was too stuffy. I decided that I would get much more use of the skirt than the jacket. I left the store with two great skirts.
