    Hi Leigh!

I really love all of their winter sweaters. Which one is your favorite?

    P.S. I love your blog!

Hey Leigh - I think I can across your site on Twitter…love! Would love to add you to our blog roll!

Does it ever occur to J Crew that some of us do not live anywhere near a store? This just frustrates me to no end. I have, however, taken full advantage of their 30% off sale online. I know that the shipping is high, but I do think that I have gotten some excellent deals.

I agree with jcrewjunkie. I for one live 4 hours one way, from the nearest J Crew store and it’s not even in the same country!!! I have to bring my passport to go shopping at J Crew. Talk about being inconvenient! LOL!!! But seriously, I would have liked to see the 30% off Sale merchandise online. I realize that they’re offering the graduated Sales Offer right now of buy $x amd get x% off but it would have been nice to get 30% off across the board. Sigh!

    Karen,
I agree that is why I haven’t made a purchase this sales time around…30% off across the board like other retailers would be wonderful!

I don’t live near a store either so it’s online or nothing.

There is a new catalog out that was shot in Iceland:) A few new things…they are online now too:)

I agree, JC shoulda made it in store or online, most retailers do that. I got the glass button merino cardi on sale for $59, plus an additional 30% off, so like $43 (orig. $88), but Banana was having a much better sale, so, I went over there and bought lots more at 40% off (plus no final sale there).

if it’s all markdowns, i wonder if it applies to promotional items as well…

    J. Crew quality is superior to Banana Republic. I think we all know that by now. As to the online vs store promotions…online is actually having a much better deal than in the store. But being in the store with the staff makes it an even better experience. I love my J. Crew store in Hawaii!!

Disagree about JC being ‘better’ than Banana, but, to each his/her own. Went to the Pleasanton store today & they had an additional 50% off sale prices! It was fab & they had tons of merchandise left. The SA said that they got authorization to do the 50% bec. they had so much merchandise left. I bagged some great deals, and NO shipping like online.

    Hawaii,
I guess the better part of online is that you can get 30% off the regular priced items which is a good deal:)

Any leads on what specials they may run after Turkey expires? I’m sad I didn’t make it to the store for the special and hoping to see something similar offered for Sunday…

  13. Leigh

Hello everyone! There is a new free shipping code. Use SHIP125 on a purchase of $125 or more. Have a good Sunday!!

Disagree about JC being ‘better’ than Banana, but, to each his/her own.

Hmm. I was loyal to BR for years. Then I realized that Banana Republic is like Lexus- built on a Toyota frame with much nicer trim; however, it’s still a Toyota and we shouldn’t pretend otherwise. BR is owned by the Gap, who also own Old Navy.

Sure, once in a while, there’s a great piece on sale, but it’s becoming rarer and rarer. Meanwhile, J.Crew has sales constantly, often with better discounts and superior quality merch.

J.Crew is like BMW. You buy a BMW, you get a BMW, not a reworked Honda (Acura), Toyota (Lexus) or Nissan (Infiniti).

To each their own, yes, but don’t kid yourself. BR has nothing on J.Crew’s fabric mills and leather suppliers. Nothing. :)
