J.Crew sent out an email this morning announcing the new additions to their Final Sale. I wrote about this yesterday, too.
I really don’t like the discrepancy in sale prices online and in stores. Currently, the stores are running a promotion with additional 40% off final sale.
What goodies have you found?

Ooooooooooo—an additional 40% off in stores? I’ll have to check that out this weekend! My cargo pants have pretty much bitten the dust, so hopefully I can find a cute pair (even if they’re men’s) on sale!

Good luck, Donna! Let me know what goodies you find!

I know I’ve posted somewhere before that I bought the watercolor madison dress online from this final sale recently, only to find it in my B&M today with that 40% off! I asked the sales assoc. if they could do a price adjustment; she went to ask the manager (who I had chatted with earlier in my visit and bonded over our marsala ballet flats in metallic bark we were both wearing!). They agreed! I am so loving my B&M store and staff! =)

Congratulations, Rae! That was really nice of them to do that for you. Did you already get the dress? Did you have to bring it into the store to do the price adjustment?
Your staff is super wonderful. What store do you shop at?

Hi-
I was excited about the email, too… however I went go look at everything that was on sale and some of the pictures of the items are not coming up. I am soooo frustrated. I sent J.Crew an email yesterday and have not heard back as of yet (it has almost been 24 hours…) I would love to shop their site, but I am not going to purchase anything I can’t see! Agh.

I haven’t gotten the dress but am expecting it today (according to the UPS tracking no.!). So I’ll probably drop by tomorrow. (They told me to bring the dress and the receipt.) And they’re doing this at the Pentagon City store - Kendria, Rachel, Alison and another sweet SA that I am kicking myself for not getting her name are so helpful!
Tala, what you can do is copy the name of the item and then do a Google search. You can usually get the pics of the items on sites like Kaboodle, ShopStyle, ThisNext. I hope this helps!

Rae: That dress is so beautiful, and an absolute steal at 40% off of $79.99! I just can’t understand why they marked that dress down so much so quickly. I can’t complain about it, but it doesn’t make sense when there have been other dresses in Final Sale for soooo long, and they still are priced higher than the Madison.

Rae: Like Ashley said that dress is quite a steal! You’ll have to let us know how you receive it and if you do indeed, are able to get that additional 40% off at the store. J.Crew can be so inconsistent with their policies.
Tala: J.Crew has been super slow their emails lately. I sent one to them a while ago and didn’t hear back for a week! If you can make it to a store, I would suggest doing that and not risking the online heartache. There’s not too much involved with shopping online these days. I am still waiting on an order from the beginning of August!
Ashley: I wonder if J.Crew’s markdowns have to do with the $15 million of excess inventory that they currently have right now. They are probably trying to move things out quickly for new arrivals. It’s good and bad for us. Once the items are at final sale, we can’t return them. Makes me wonder if I should just purchase things I like at full price so that I can try them on. And then return them and purchase on sale once they go on sale. Such games we have to play!

I just wanted to say my first PS experience was simply wonderful. She was very nice and patient while I tried things on endlessly and finally only bought two items. I got the watercolor schoolgirl skirt which ended just below my knees and the ringspun cotton tee. She was kind enough to let me combine the student and PS discounts. The skirt is beautiful, even more so in person and will go really well with the matching deep atlantic bella shoes I just bought online. At first she hesitated about combining the discounts but then I told her I “knew” people who have done this before referring to some of the bloggers on this site , and she was finally persuaded- this site does pay off ! Thing about having a PS is like having a Jcrew insider telling you in person what looks good on and what don’t. I mean I really wanted to try on the htr charcoal berry astrid jacket but my PS said it is a great piece for office goers but for me I should try a more brighter color. She said she’ll tell me when the blue and the plum will be in the store and I should definitely check that out. I guess it makes sense cause I really don’t need such a serious piece right now and a bright color probably remain more true to my student status. But it was a very nice combination of berries. And now all I need is that floral placket shirt and I’ll have my dose of florals for this fall- hmm…

Sorry for making my post so long with grammatical errors nonetheless:)

Japannjcrew: I am so glad to hear that you had a great personal shopper experience. It’s also awesome that she let you combine the discounts. I am going to email you in the morning about posting your experience in a blog entry. Hope you don’t mind!

Do I have to post it or you’ll? And do you have my email? If you don’t I can send it.
