Blue Berry-trim Astrid Jacket Waitlisted til November!

Berry-trim Astrid jacket, $248.00, Item 96309

Earlier today, I wrote about how I have been contemplating the Berry-trim Astrid jacket.  A couple of readers posted how they already have this jacket and love it.  I looked on J.Crew’s website to try and determine which color I should order.  To my surprise, the blue color is WAITLISTED until Thanksgiving!

Goodness, that was fast!  This jacket must be selling out fast.  My local store only has the blue and gray color so maybe I should order the plum.

What do you think?  Are you surprised that the blue is waitlisted?  What color should I order?

No, I have been checking all sizes and colors of this jacket about 3 times a day since it came out…I noticed several days ago that the charcoal and blue are waitlisteds to Thanksgiving and I wanted mine NOW…I can get so much wear out of it by then….long wait. I wanted the plum and it had been backordered last week until Sept. 9 but came in a few days earlier so I jumped and bought it…I don’t want to miss it! I don’t care if it eventually does on sale…I got mine and will have gotten a few months wear out of it…otherwise, it may be getting into spring and I’d only wear it a few time.

P.S. I would get the plum b/c I love purple but if your heart is set on the blue get on the wait list ASAP….you can always cancel it between now and then if need be…..get on the list!

P.P.S. I don’t think any of these colors will look dated…there are always purple lovers out there…it just happens to be the IT color this season. Blue is a classic. I just don’t like the gray (and I like gray a lot) It looks a bit frumpy to me and the berries seem to blend it….I want this jacket to pop and truth be told, be noticed in it!

    Correction: blend IN (not it)

Haha Ann, you crack me up! I agree with you any color would be an excellent choice and why not get lots of wear out of it.

If you really want the blue or charcoal, you could call and have them do a store locator in addition to being wait listed. I really prefer the blue over the charcoal as well.

Hi everyone. After lots of consideration, I still do not know what color I like the best. Too many options! I ordered the gray and plum in size 0 and the blue in the P0. I am crossing my fingers that they all make it to my doorstep safe and sound.

Be sure to post your thoughts when you get them, Leigh. Another plus for the blue, it occured to me, is that you can wear it even into spring, whereas the plum & charcoal tend to look best in fall & winter.

I totally love this jacket, but realize there is just too much ornamentation around the bustline for a 34D girl like me. At least my wallet is happy!

i vote charcoal - bright tees, tanks and vintage jewelry will allow you to wear more often and more options!

Francesca, I will post my review as soon as I get all the jackets. I am so excited to try them all on at the same time. This way, I can easily compare the colors.

Jen, I am sorry to hear that about the jacket! But at least, you can save for another great J.Crew item.

Maura, I am thinking the charcoal will be versatile, too, but I definitely want to try on the other colors.

Awesome, Leigh! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the Astrid in all 3 colors, as well as outfit ideas. I’m waiting for the weather to cool down here in the South so I can wear mine.
