I also noticed the Merino V neck sweaters had been added to final sale, but they were at the same price$59 that they were in store last week, so maybe they are even less eg extra 20% in stores? I have to call my PS and find out since I really want some and am afraid the XS will sell out in the good colors. Does anyone know, also if Tartine are on sale or promotion…? -

I just called my local store because I wanted to stop by there after work today. They won’t let me use my student discount with the private sale. What a bummer! Has anyone else found this to be the case?

They should honor the student discount with the private sale? After all, what good is this special discount if you can’t use it above and beyond what they offer everyone else? I went round and round with Jcrew on this very subject last week and I ended up with the most eloquently written email/letter to show if there is ever a problem combining discouts with the educator’s discount (which should apply to students as well…..) Call JCrew and push option 2 and/or send an email or two….it may take a bit to get to the right person but get the discount you deserve!

I called up the other two J.Crew stores near me and both associates that answered told me that I COULD COMBINE discounts. I wonder why there is a discrepancy in the policy and what the stores are willing to do. Nonetheless, I have planned a trip to one of those stores before Friday, instead of the one that will not honor the combined discounts.

Leigh, glad you called the other stores near you…If you wanted to go to the one closer to you that won’t honor the student discount…I have heard of people then calling JCrew Customer Service afterwards with their receipt and getting the discount that way….I guess by crediting your credit card. I have never tried it but heard it worked. Also, then JCrew contacted the store and set them straight! You could request that too maybe!
