J.Crew Website Down Again

I have been trying to access J.Crew’s website for the last 30 minutes and it will not load.  This just affirms my belief that I should no longer shop online.

I’m actually amazed with myself. Since the website “upgrade”, I’ve only ordered once, and that was over the phone. I used to order online every week – on sale AND full price. I miss the thrill of getting packages on my doorstep, but it’s not worth the stress I’d get from trying to fix orders and my credit. =(

I just got free shipping for calling the 800# saying I was having trouble with the website. Since I already had a 15% discount code and a $50 giftcard, I got the new denim pencil skirt ($98) for $38.92! Call the 800#…it’s faster anyway!

Pink: that’s quite the steal! Did you have to wait very long on the phone? That’s the part I hate about calling the 1800 number.

  4. Pink says:

No, it was a surprisingly painless experience. Did not have to wait long at all…especially compared to the wait I was having online.

I have had soooo many problems since the website “upgrade.” I don’t like the new sale section at all and photos never seem to load. Almost all my orders are wrong too.I ordered 2 dresses, 1 being the Dream Soho dress right before it went on waitlist. My order arrived today…no Dream Soho dress. I was charged for it but no dress. LOVE J. Crew but have had nothing but hassle since the web “upgrade.” I never had any problems before.

I’m shocked that JCrew has taken this long to update their website. They either don’t know what they are doing, or someone is giving them the worst advice ever. It’s bad enough that some of the pictures don’t load when your trying to look at an item in detail, but to be down during the time people are making decisions on where to spend their money doesn’t tell me that JCrew Is a “Place to shop”. They are not only in danger of angering their best customers; they are in danger of those same customers never coming back.

A restaurant manager I worked for once told me a story. He said not to worry too much about the customer who always complains and you never seem to be able to please them…..worry about the customer who walks out the door without saying anything and never seeing them again.

Wow, so incredibly frustrating. Get with it jcrew.

I’ve been trying to order gifts online from J. Crew all night and there is technically difficulty…It’s so frustrating. J. Crew is losing my business tonight…What is the issue with the website?

  9. Deb says:

i have been trying for two days. totally frustrating. I hope they honor the 30% promo

J.Crew’s website always goes down whenever there is a great savings promotion. The website just can not handle of the traffic that the promotions drive to the site. This has happened many times already this year.

I am not sure what they trying to do to fix it. Have you tried phoning your orders in? It is much easier. I hope that helps you!

I also have trouble with J.Crew’s checkout during the holidays/seasonal sales. I really hate it when I go to checkout and half of the items in my cart have been removed/sold out by the time I’m ready to pay…and then what I do have in my cart is unable to process because of a technical difficulty. But I do have to say that my experience in the J.Crew store (Houston Galleria) was very nice. I was even offered a bottle of water when I went to the dressing rooms. I will go back soon to look out for holiday savings!

12/31/2008 Here it is the end of the year, and we are still experiencing issues with J Crew’s new “improved” website. I believe every order I’ve place online (when I’ve been successful) since summer 2008 has been late, not fulfilled, or incorrect. I’m curious who their new web host is because they should fire them and go back to the old host. Seriously, J Crew; get it together. I love your stuff but your website is remnant of a 1990’s site.

    J. Crew management has got to my myopic. They should fire the entire management team and outsource it to the Dollar store. They’d be better served.
