The October New Arrivals welcomed another beautiful dress into the J.Crew wedding dress collection.  Below is my review of the latest addition.  For previous bridal reviews, please click here.

Jeweled cady gown, $1295, Item 95959

I love the simple elegance of the Jeweled cady gown.  The neckline is nicely adorned and I love the low cut back.  The silhouette is perfect for a fall or spring wedding.  The dress also features pockets which make it great to stow away a small item on your big day.

The silhouette is also featured in a shorter version.  Perhaps for the bridesmaids?  The only colors are navy or pumpkin.  These colors may not be so versatile for the bridal party.  Navy can be too dark and not everyone can pull off orange.

Jeweled cady shift, $495, Item 95960

Another stunner is the dress below.  It is featured in the brand new October catalog, but is not yet available to view online.  It is priced at under $500 which makes it more reasonable for a bride who is on a budget, but she will still be gorgeous.  I love how it styled with that pin on the side.

The jeweled cady gown is gorgeous! The proportions are great and would look good on a variety of body types. I do have to agree with you that not everyone can pull off the pumpkin in the shorter dress. But, the navy would be a cute alternative to a black dress for the bridal party. It would definitely be one well dressed set of bridesmaids!

The second wedding dress is also amazing. I love how there are so many dresses out lately that have sleeves that aren’t frumpy looking. Cold-weather wedding dresses trend to go towards scary lacy bell sleeves and awkward fur-lined hoods. This is chic and without all the nonsense of extra lace and beading.

Simple and elegant! My favorite type of wedding dress. These are perfect informal wedding dresses. Good to see something other than strapless. Mature brides could feel comfortable wearing these.

I love the second wedding dress. The sleeves and drape of the gown are simple, but stunning. I wonder what it looks like in person? Always the big question with J Crew items that are only available online!

Meaghin, I have a similar dress from several seasons ago that’s made of the same fabric and short but I what I can tell you is the silk that it’s made out of has a nice heft to it that helps with the beautiful draping but it’s not too heavy and it’s not too light that it blows at every little gust. The classical nature of the cut and the weight of the fabric make it an exceptional gown…i think. :D

the second dress looks like the Cecelia dress which i have and i like it though it’s awfully clingy compared with dresses of similar fabric (sophia or rebecca) — i think this has a nicer shape and drape
